There is a part in the 2019 seminal Netflix classic Wine Country (which is a movie I definitely don’t watch more often than a human person should) where Abby (Amy Poehler) and Catherine (Ana Gasteyer) are walking through an organic winery and they decide to play a game called “Path Not Taken.”
It’s a simple game, really. It’s imagining what you might be doing with your life if you weren’t where you are now. Abby’s answer is working in a crunchy bookstore somewhere rainy and moody. Or she would do close-up magic. Catherine’s answer is to be a Zamboni driver because it sounds peaceful. I don’t disagree.
Side note: My brother was a Zamboni driver one winter and there was definitely one more attempted stabbing then there should have been.
So, let’s play. I’ve got a few.

And there is definitely a part of me that feels like I could be Sam Malone, slinging drinks, sipping coffee, and breaking hearts all over the place. We have basically the same hair at the moment so I’m not really that far off.
Or, somewhere, I’m just sitting on an Adirondack chair with a glass of white wine, as the sun sets over the vineyard, cheers-ing the beautiful day in wine country.
