It’s the new year! Again! Or still! Honestly, I have very little idea what day it is usually. And this week, I’m just getting back into the swing of things in my own apartment after having been away for the holidays for three weeks. So, if we didn’t have phones and computers telling us what day and time it is, my poor jet-lagged body would have absolutely zero idea. Nada. Zip. Zilch. As it is, I don’t have the luxury of melting into a nebulous time/space continuum.
Holiday travel was, overall, very good. I spent part of the time with my best friend (Hi, Cassi!) in Bellingham, Washington, which is the town where we went to college. She and her hubz moved back there about a year ago so they are, once again, full-on residents of this town. The couple of times I have been there in the last year, I was expecting a lot more starry-eyed nostalgia than I ended up having. Experiencing your college town when you have nothing to prove and can just live your life is actually very nice. I found my biggest worry was truly just running into someone I didn’t want to see. But that didn’t happen, so there.
As we were walking the streets, I did realize that I’m pretty sure I don’t remember more about college than I do remember. And because it’s been a bit since I’ve done a list in this edition, here is a list of things or part of things I have forgotten about college:
